Association of Pet Dog Trainers

The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (Australia) is committed to providing cutting edge information and a forum for discussion that will make for better trainers through education. Members can attend regional meetings and an annual 3 day conference. They have access to a  substantial library of videos, tapes and books. Dr Roger Abrantes

Dr Roger Abrantes,  probably one of the most versatile ethologists in the world,is president of the Association of Companion Animal Behavior Counselors, speaks 9 different languages and has written 17 books on animal behaviour. He was one of the key speakers at the APDT's 2008 annual conference in Sydney.

Dr R.K. Anderson

Dr R.K. Anderson is  chairman of the  Animal Behaviour Resources Institute. This site enhances human animal relationships and improves quality of life for people and animals by providing education and animal behavior resources.

Dr Suzanne Hetts

Dr Suzanne Hetts, a leading applied animal behaviourist, was main speaker at the APDT conference in Coffs Harbour in 2004. Many of her videos and books, including her best known and highly regarded 'Pet Behaviour Protocols', are in the APDT member's library. Australian Veterinary Association

The site of the Australian Veterinary Association represents the veterinary profession. Back copies of the AVA Journal contain useful information on health matters.

Flying Dog Press

Suzanne Clothier, author of 'Bones Would Rain from the Sky', has some incisive articles on humane, relationship based training built on trust, mutual respect, attentiveness and empathy.

Kaye Hargreaves

Kaye Hargreaves from Melbourne is one of Australia's leading positive reinforcement trainers and authors. The articles section of her website has particularly valuable information.

K9 Events

Pat Robards from NSW, another of Australia's leading positive reinforcement trainers & trick trainer without equal, has a brilliant site. Links to informative articles on every good dog site on the internet. The wheat has been sifted from the chaff!

Nerd Book - Dr Sophia Yin

Dr Sophia Yin, author of 'the brilliant 'How To Behave So Your Dog Behaves' has produced an amazing series of short training video clips that illustrate her modern training techniques with dogs, horses, chickens, ostriches and giraffes.

Don Caster Animal Clinic

Pet Health

The site of Brisbane's well known Animal Veterinary Behaviourist and 4BC radio personality, Dr Cam Day, contains a goldmine of useful information. There are e-books and free downloads to many articles on solving behaviour problems of all types of pets.

PetRescue

PetRescue is a not-for-profit organisation that finds new homes for abandoned and unwanted pets. They are the largest online searchable directory of rescue pets in Australia and to date  have saved 32,330 animals.
